Protecting people’s rights is more than just a job, it is my passion. I aim to represent my clients using the skills and knowledge developed in my 27 years of practicing law. Criminal defense is my chief focus, with an emphasis on defense for federal crimes. I am licensed to practice in all courts of Florida, including the Northern, Middle and Southern districts of federal court. I also handle some civil cases, with an emphasis on complex business litigation in federal court.

I have been involved with the criminal justice system for nearly 30 years. I served as a law enforcement officer in the state of Florida before pursuing a legal career. I started out as an assistant public defender in Tampa, then worked in civil litigation and corporate general counsel for several years before shifting back to criminal law when I opened my own firm in Ocala.

I have a saying “there is no justice, there’s just us.” By this, I mean that the system can be unfair and impersonal. Without quality legal representation, it can swallow you up and spit you out.
